The Costa’s Cercanías trains (local commuter trains) between Fuengirola and Malaga are already among the most popular public services in Spain. So imagine what would happen if the line were to go as far as Marbella, with a population of around 140,000 inhabitants plus millions of visitors during the summer. Not only this, but the reduction in traffic on the roads, one of the biggest objectives of all the plans for sustainable development, would be spectacular.
